The Metropolitan Choir will build on its proud 82 year tradition as a choir for men and start a choir for boys.

The choir will start rehearsing in 2011 and will be for boys aged 9 years and older. Weekly practices will be held at the choir’s rehearsal venue at Rosefield Uniting Church in Highgate, on Wednesday afternoon from 4.45 – 6.00pm.

The Metropolitan Choir has a charter to work to foster singing by males in an inclusive manner, and is not affiliated with any religious group. The Metropolitan Male Choir has low fees for its members and the Boys Choir will also be “low fee” and provide training and opportunities for boys to experience the satisfaction and fun of performing.

The Metropolitan Male Choir has a history of working with young people and fostering talent in children through its Scholarship Program. The Choir has a Child Protection policy which can be viewed at its website: www.mmcsa.org.
